About Us
Nirmala College of Nursing is under the management of St.Charles Medical Society, which was established in 1955 by the Sisters of St.Charles Borromeo. Following the example of Jesus Christ who said, “I have come in order that you might have life, life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). Our vision is to protect, preserve and promote life through our medical service.
The small dispensary started with 10 beds by the dedicated sisters has grown into a 250 bedded hospital with all required facilities.
The hospital gained its name and fame in and around the locality for its loving, compassionate and generous service to all, irrespective of caste, creed and community, particularly the poor and underserved.
Vision
To impart new knowledge and newer ways to discover the human needs, share this knowledge with others through nursing education and develop skills to provide quality care to the clients with the holistic approach without any discrimination.
Mission
To improve health and wellness in individuals, families and communities through the discovery and dissemination of nursing knowledge and the translation of science into practice.
Philosophy
The philosophy of the Nirmala College of Nursing is stated as follows: Human being is created in the image of God and likeness of the creator. Each one is unique and deserves the maximum referents from the moment of conception to its natural end. The College of nursing strives for an environment in which all who approach us are welcomed to share our values. They are challenged and supported to reach their highest potential. We support diversity of thoughts and persons and foster a desire for excellence.
We believe that health is a dynamic state arising from continuous changes from wellness to illness and from illness to wellness. Nursing is also an art apart from science to achieve the goal of optimum health to all, through partnership with individuals, families and communities. This institution intends training the students to uphold respect for life through a genuine feeling of compassion for the sick and suffering, facilitating care across the life span in an increasingly complex health care system. Nurses analyse, synthesize, apply and evaluate knowledge of nursing and other disciplines to improve health by providing quality health care. The unique characteristic of this institution is that it seeks to imbibe the students with the spirit of Jesus - 'the Divine Healer' to have compassionate love specially for the poor, lonely and those in need of health care to create a culture of life.
