Nirmala College of Nursing is under the management of St.Charles Medical Society, which was established in 1955 by the Sisters of St.Charles Borromeo. Following the example of Jesus Christ who said, “I have come in order that you might have life, life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). Our vision is to protect, preserve and promote life through our medical service. The small dispensary started with 10 beds by the dedicated sisters has grown into a 250 bedded hospital with all required facilities.

Nirmala School of Nursing started in 2004 and Nirmala College of Nursing started in 2011 under the management of Nirmala Hospital.

Nirmala College of Nursing intends to train the students to uphold respect for life through a genuine feeling of compassion for the sick and suffering. The college of nursing strives for an environment in which all who approach us are welcomed to share our values. They are challenged and supported to reach their highest potential. The college has excellent and experienced faculty who plan meticulously all the curricular and co-curricular activities to impart quality education which reflects in excellent academic results.

Our origin

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo was founded in 1684 by Fr. Adrien Bresy in Belgium - Europe to impart Christian education to the poor children and to alleviate the suffering of the people displaced by war and famine. One of the four pioneers of Indian mission - Mother Virgine, who came to India in 1929 was a visionary. She desired to establish a health care center for women and children. Nirmala Hospital is an edifice of love created by those who loved to dream and dreamed of love. We remember with gratitude Mother Virginie and Mother Jean Marie, the pioneers and all our predecessors who have toiled to make their dream become a reality as “NIRMALA HOSPITAL” on October 7, 1955. We strive to continue and extend this vision of our missionaries.
